March 25, 2008: 8 years in the making, the jewel of the Pemberton fleet, the Boeing 40, takes to the skies. Here's a link to the big event, as captured by the local news channel.

June 08, 2007: Well, you just knew this was going to happen: site webmaster Corey Wirun passed his PPL checkride with flying colors at Calgary Springbank (CYBW). Nobody is safe now. No more having to run around in circles with arms extended making airplane noises.

May 08, 2007: The lovely and talented Miss Katie Hamilton has acquired the privileges and responsibilities of a licensed private pilot as of last Sat. She accomplished this task from start to finish in tail wheel aircraft and took her check ride and most of her training in the Aviat Husky. As we all know the stiff legged Husky is not the easiest airplane to land smoothly without a bit of a skip or baby bounce. See picture of her on the day of her check ride with her instructor the dashing and over dressed Jay Pemberton, and examiner Rick Harbor.

Apr. 22, 2007: Like to proverbial Phoenix rising from ashes, so does the much awaited Pemberton Boeing 40 project. From an most unassuming start (below left), this vintage bird is getting close to gracing the skies once more - almost seven years to the day when it all started. An awesome testimonial to Pemberton ingenuity and dedication to aviation.

Gail and her paperJun. 09, 2006:Gail Lange passed her Private Pilot flight test yesterday afternoon in her Trusty Cessna 175. As you can see form the picture she has her eye on the Marc's 195 with visions of trips to Lake Tahoe for lunch and Aspen for week end ski trips. It looks as if the women of Felts Field will soon rule the world.

Oct. 17, 2007:A Wirun milestone flight. Corey's first solo as pilot in command.

He says, "It was wonderful, but only a little anticlimatic - there was only so much you could do (safely) when you are only 1000 feet off the ground. And I even considered singing out loud the whole way (to celebrate my increased sense of masculinity), but I was afraid my mike switch might have been stuck on or something...".

Sep. 28, 2007:Larry Tobin's duster dog 450 is all cleaned up and ready for the prom after getting her new wings installed last eve. Larry has done a wonderful job on this aircraft and it is truly a treasure. Ryan Pemberton has done most of the non stock 450 sheet metal and fab work for the "stock ride with a trick mill under the hood look" Expect a 1st engine run this week end and a test flight soon. This feather weight 450 Stearman should jump off the ground when the pilot puts the needle to her.

Jeff Hamilton, Martha Hamilton and Felts field well wishers were on hand to witness the epic event. It seems that the women of Felts will soon completely take over the airport as of late. The delightful and pretty Miss Hamilton turned 16 earlier this month.
